2022 Club Mandalay Legends Golf PRO-AM

There’s been a buzz around Club Mandalay over the past few days, as our team and members relive the thrill of last Thursday’s Legends Pro-Am.

There was an impressive draw of Professional players who took to the course across the day, including Andre Stolz, Peter Fowler, Terry Price, Peter Senior and Michael Long.

Feedback about the Mandalay course was excellent across the board, with Peter Senior sharing his thoughts on the course after finishing 3-under:

“I’ve really enjoyed my day at Club Mandalay, the weather has been beautiful and the course is in excellent shape and the Par 3s have been quite challenging.”

A sentiment echoed by Peter Fowler and Terry Price who also provided some tips on how to play their favourite holes, so keep an eye out for the “Tips from the Pros” video series being released soon on the Mandalay Golf Facebook page.

The Professionals category saw a shared victory between Legends Brad Burns, Nigel Lane and Michael Long.

“It’s good fun and a pretty golf course.  Generous off the tee, which is great because you can get your driver out and give it a good whack, and the green complexes are just tricky enough to make a really good test”, Michael Long explained, after his first – and ultimately successful – round at Mandalay.

We know Nigel’s victory was particularly special for major event sponsor Avid Sports, with Nigel a Coaching Professional in Avid Sports’ business operation, Golf Central.

Events like the Mandalay Legends Pro-Am are made possible through the support and contributions from valued event partners such as Avid Sports, Fusion Power Systems, Harmac Homes, Wright Contracting, Coca Cola, Titleist, Greg Rix, FootJoy, Srixon, Toro and Taylormade.

Special mention also goes to Andy Rogers from the PGA for his assistance with planning and the on-the-day support offered to the Mandalay team throughout our second PGA Legends Tour event.

Club Mandalay are deeply thankful for our event partners’ support and we look forward to taking the event to new heights in 2023!

For the Amateurs, the privilege of playing alongside golfing greats, with each team having at least one allocated Pro join the group, felt like victory in itself.
